My Learning Object

The learning object that has been used is called an infographic using the tool from Piktochart. This learning object can be used in the classroom to show and display information in visually appealing forms. It is a great technological tool to connect curriculum expectations to learning. This specific infographic relates to the science curriculum where grade 2 students will learn about the four seasons and what activities are performed throughout each season. What each season consists of and the specific activities that are done throughout each season. The characteristics students will use to recognize to represent an activity that you can only do in a specific season. Students would recognize an activity like tobogganing in winter because of the snow that only falls in winter because of the cold temperatures. This infographic allows students to look and be able to relate through kinaesthetic and visual representations to help understand and differentiate the four seasons. Students could also by using Piktochart, or easel.ly can easily create infographic nothing complex and will be able to help with their technical skills. With me using this to represent knowledge in the classroom it will help motivate students to want to create their own to help express their knowledge in multiple forms. Using learning objects to express students’ knowledge and teaching with it allows for students of multiple intelligences and learning styles. It allows for all students to be able to contribute their learning through learning objects and to be able to represent what they know easier.
