What was the topic
highlighted
The workshop that I attended was called “It’s All Up to You”
and the information that was discussed was about classroom management in the
classroom. Joanne Myers had led this workshop which was held on Friday January
30, 2015. It was an amazing workshop it was engaging, and very informative of
information I did not know could be done with classroom management. This
workshop demonstrated understanding of how to incorporate classroom management
through activities, booklets, and engaging discussion about how to incorporate
classroom management without trying very hard at all.
How would a classroom
teacher (or YOU) use the information for instructional purposes?
A classroom
teacher or I would use this information for instructional purposes because the
whole way of teaching now today does not even really need to worry about
classroom management if you are engaging students in the lesson. The more time
you engage students the less time they worry about being disruptive, off-task,
or bored. This workshop helped enlighten some activities such as team building
activities, ones that help students try to understand and concentrate on
elements that they are learning in an engaging way. A classroom teacher could
find activities that are well suited for their class, or students’ interests.
Depending on what subjects are being taught many activities can be adjusted
based on student needs that engage them as well. The main idea of this workshop
is to use engaging activities to strive students to be engaged and as a class
create their own classroom rules that are co-created. Ensure that students
understand all of the rules that they made.
What was ONE reason
for selecting this presentation (include why you selected this
presentation—For
example:
One reason I
selected this presentation is because I see a real need for this type of
strategy used in instruction. Teachers and I need to understand how to
implement classroom management in the classroom with our students. Teachers and
students need to understand the purpose of classroom management and how it
effectively works. It can work really well especially when the whole class is
engaged and there are no issues shown throughout class. Classroom management is
needed to help students learning, for them to stay on track and not have a
second to get bored, or distracted. Without classroom management in lessons you
will not have a pure successful lesson where students will not learn at their
maximum potential.
